This is your base size. Note that we use US sizing (so for example a size 36 ~Small, a size 38 ~Medium, and sizes 40-42 ~Large. For those used to European sizing, subtract 10 from your normal size (i.e., an EU size 50 generally corresponds to an American size 40).
Length i
Long jackets measure 1 3/16" longer in the sleeve length and body length than Regular jackets, while Short jackets measure 1 3/16" shorter in the sleeve length and body length than Regular.
Fit i
Extra Slim is a “Drop 9” fit and extremely trim around the waist. This is suggested for more muscular men with large shoulders and particularly slim waists that want a very tailored fit.
Slim is a “Drop 8” fit and our standard slim fit. It's the same fit as our standard size Hudson jackets and suggested for guys in good shape that want a trim fit.
Classic is a “Drop 6” fit and a more generous, boxy cut. It has more room around the waist and is intended for guys with larger midsections.

A lightweight merino wool jacket that makes a subtle statement.
This merino wool hopsack from Italy’s Reda has a gently textured open weave that complements the natural flow of the fabric beautifully. It has as similar look and feel to linen, that quintessentially warm-weather material, and it, too, has excellent breathability in the heat. Plus, merino wool is naturally wrinkle resistant, making this one of those jackets that really performs without any fuss. Our new double-breasted front option features a six-on-two design with a functional anchor button inside and a peak lapel with plenty of roll. Lean into the easiness of the fabric with a knit shirt and pants with a bit more structure.

We’ll use this data to generate a custom size based on your inputs with the same proven algorithm used to produce the majority of our custom shirt customers' sizes!
How long does it take to have custom tailored suits, jackets, or trousers made?
Tailored clothing--including suits, jackets, and dress pants--generally takes about three to four weeks to produce and deliver.

Absolutely! From the product page, simply click the ‘Customize’ button next to the size selection.
From there, you’ll be able to change lapel shape, construction style, buttons, jacket vents, lining, cuff/hem style, tuxedo styling and other options!
I have a custom shirt size already, can you use that to create my first suit/jacket/pant size?
It is difficult to predict suit/jacket/pant sizing from shirt dimensions alone as the pattern, range of motion requirements and fit preferences vary between the different garment types.

I just received my first suit/jacket/pant and need some alterations. How do I get help?
We can definitely assist with alterations in a few different ways. Contact us to initiate any of the following:
- Have the garment adjusted by your own local tailor. Send us a photo of the receipt and we’ll provide you with store credit or a refund (up to $125 for a suit, $75 for a jacket and $50 for trousers).
- Work with our team to determine what changes need to be made, and have Proper Cloth alter the garment for you or remake it in a new size.
- Return the tailored clothing to us and have it remade in a different standard size. (For example, if you ordered a 40 Regular Slim Fit, we could remake it in a 41 Regular Slim Fit.)
- Return the tailored clothing to us for a full refund.
Do you offer rush delivery?
Rush delivery is not available for custom made products. With ready-to-wear and stocked products, we have a little more flexibility.

If you’re not happy with the fit of your jacket, you can either return it to us for a complimentary remake in a new size or have your local tailor make alterations. Email us a photo of the receipt for the alteration costs and we’ll credit your account up to $75. Alternatively, if the jacket is unworn and unaltered, you may return it to us for a full refund within 90 days.
