Albiate Light Grey Recycled Cotton Twill Fabric

A luxurious Italian twill that does the environment some good.

This 30s single-ply twill is woven from a combination of 60% recycled cotton and 40% virgin cotton. The recycled cotton comes from a variety of leftover fabrics collected from Albiate’s production line, with the virgin cotton included in the blend to provide extra strength. The result is a wonderfully textured, slubby twill with a comfortable three-season medium weight. It’s a beautiful, sustainable alternative to other casual fabrics like chambrays and plain weaves. This light grey is sprinkled with neutral brown and grey flecks which add even more depth and interest to the variations in the colors. Wear it with jeans and sneakers, or tuck it into wool trousers for an easy tailored look.

Recommended Styling: We like this fabric with soft details. Pay homage to its Italian origins with a Soft Roma Cutaway collar and no placket, or go with a workwear vibe with a Soft Point collar, Soft Front placket, and Rounded Flap pockets.

“Really like the slubby texture and subtle flecks of different colours. Makes a really nice, casual shirt for all but the very coldest or very hottest days. Only removing 1-star from the "performance" rating as it is the slightest bit scratchy feeling compared to some other cloths. But certainly not uncomfortable at all and it looks great.”

“Love the fabric. I was hesitant to buy after another customer reviewed it as a bit scratchy/uncomfortable, but I'm very glad I went with it in the end. The fabric is slubby, but that adds character in my mind and I think the feel is extremely soft. Out-of-the-wash wrinkles tend to relax out on their own. This might well become my favorite shirt I've ever owned.”
