A lightweight, three-season flannel made exclusively for us in Japan.

We designed our Satoyama flannels with a distinct heathered color palette and a lighter weight to carry you all the way through fall, winter, and spring. They’re woven exclusively for us in Japan on a vintage Rapier loom from certified organic cotton in a 40/1 x 40/1 twill construction. The particularly slow weaving action of the loom keeps the yarns loose, and, with a light brushing, the result is a super comfortable fabric you can wear in a host of different situations. A process called “top dyeing” creates the unique irregularity of the mélange yarns and the beautiful tonal variations in these flannels. This hazy light grey and sky blue plaid is right at home with your favorite pair of jeans, but also looks great layered over a turtleneck sweater with trousers.
