Fabric Description

A special warm-weather blend from the merino wool masters at Reda.

This fantastic blend of almost equal parts merino wool and linen comes to us from Reda. As Italy’s premier merino wool mill—and makers of our popular Merino Wool Shirts—we couldn’t imagine a better source for such a unique quality. This fabric looks like pure linen, but features the best of both materials—it’s lightweight, breathable, and comfortable in the heat, plus odor-resistant with a subtly textured yet silky finish. It’s also much more wrinkle-resistant than cotton and linen blends, and it’s super easy to care for (dry cleaning not required). Light blue threads run in the warp of the fabric while white threads run in the weft, resulting to the varied appearance much like end-on-end that plays up the slubbiness of the linen. Tuck it into linen trousers and throw on some espadrilles for an easy summer look.

Recommended Styling: We like it with our Soft President Spread and no placket for a sleek casual vibe. It also makes a great Camp shirt with our Camp collar and short sleeves.

  • This is an extremely versatile warm weather fabric. The smart color allows it to be dressed up, and the texture allows it to be dressed down.

  • This is a good shirt for cool to warm weather and works well in cold weather when layering. It wrinkles slightly in a way that I like for a casual appearance.

  • Love the texture and weight. A little brighter blue than I was expecting but it's perfect under my medium dark grey tweed blazer.

  • Caveat: haven't worn it yet. Out of the box it feels and looks very much like pure lightweight linen, maybe just slightly less wrinkly. I thought the wool would make it softer and less wrinkle-prone, but alas... Still looks great though, and it's super lightweight. As I said, haven't worn it yet, but I'm sure it will be cool and airy, and I suspect the "wrinkling while wearing" factor will be better than pure linen.

  • Wonderful

September 2021  ·  Jonathan in DPO, AE

  • Gorgeous, love the smoother, less wrinkly performance of wool, and the beautiful texture and variegated color of linen. The fabric has very little stretch though, so if you have a very slim style it fits a bit tighter than other fabrics.
