Behind the Fabric We’ve worked closely with a specialty mill in Japan to create this collection of unique, breathable plaid flannels.
We design and develop the patterns in NYC, and they’re woven, dyed, and finished in Aichi, Japan.
Woven on a vintage, slow-moving Rapier loom, the fabrics have a loose structure and a soft texture that cannot be achieved with today’s advanced machines.
The heathered colors are the result of a process called “top dyeing.”
In order to maintain the soft, natural feel of the organic cotton, these fabrics are finished with very little treatment.
