White Phantom Grid Fabric

Fabric Description

This beautiful dobby weave has a super cool square grid texture revealed only by the texture and shininess of the fabric. The fabric is thicker than average and great for fun, formal occasions. Would be great for a wedding with a tux! 80s two-ply Japanese dobby weave.

  • Elegant, but extremely hard to care for. A special shirt for special occasions, but probably the hardest shirt to iron that I\'ve ever encountered.

  • Great fabric. Not sure why it's been discontinued. I wear it to the office a lot. Plain white but with a fun texture. Maybe too flashy to wear to a job interview or funeral but seems appropriate for everything else. Has a little shine to it as well.

  • A bit dressier than expected--sharp looking, but will likely have limited use in wardrobe

  • Awesome weight and when ironed looks impeccable . Adds so much for just a white shirt.

  • Nice fabric that adds interest & intrigue vs. a more standard white twill or broadcloth. It is thick, which is both good and bad. The good is that, if you\'re a bit hairy like me you don\'t have to wear an undershirt that inevtiably shows through thinner white shirts -- I think this looks much nicer/cleaner. The flip side, of course, is that this is a pretty warm fabric. It also, in my opinion is a bit stiff and thus doesn\'t drape particularly well. So it\'s not the most comfortable fabric to wear (you certainly don\'t get that \"heavenly feeling\" of other (and more expensive) fabrics), though I wouldn\'t go so far as to say it\'s uncomfortable. It looks nice dressed up, and is akin to wearing a starched shirt. So, it won\'t be your weekend go-to, but it\'s great for a more formal setting. I wear mine with suit or tux (untraditional, I know). It has gotten compliments from colleagues, too. Overall, good if you want something white that\'s a bit thicker and more visually interesting. Just have reasonable expectations about what that thickness means in terms of drape and feel.

  • It\'s a nice fabric. It stained around the collar a little quicker than I would have imagined, though.
