Albini Navy Cotton Linen Seersucker Fabric

Description

Fabric Description

There’s nothing like a fine seersucker fabric to get you through the warmer months in style, and this one takes the classic seersucker texture to a whole new level. Rather than the typical 100% cotton seersucker, this uses a cotton and linen blend from Albini that gives that fabric a particularly dry handfeel and extra slub. Widely worn in the hot, muggy South, seersucker’s special uneven puckering qualities gives it less surface area contact against the skin, increasing airflow under the shirt and allowing heat to dissipate more quickly...factor in the natural moisture wicking abilities of linen and you have a serious summer shirt. We love a Soft President Spread or Soft Ivy BD collar on these and don't be shy to give it short sleeves and make it your new beach shirt. Due to the special nature of seersucker fabrics, they can only be made using soft, unfused collars and cuffs. This fabric is limited edition.

  • Since this is seersucker, it has some wrinkles as part of its texture but it still looks neat. It is lightweight and cool enough for summer. It has a surface feel that is just a bit hard compared to some other shirt fabrics, but not chafing or irritating. To me, the fabric has a modern look. The stripes are subtle and slimming.

  • Probably one of the best head turning shirts I've owned!

December 2016  ·  Scott in Hudson, WI

  • Love this as a casual shirt. Light and airy, with all the character of linen; but it still seems to look crisp enough to stay the right side of rumpled slob. It saw hard service on a trip to Uganda and Kenya, and I felt as comfortable dressing for dinner in old colonial bastions, as wandering around Kampala shanty towns. A real favorite.

August 2016  ·  Craig in Portland, OR

  • Beautiful lightweight fabric, it has a nice rustic feel that makes me feel like one of those wealthy people who spend their whole lives on beaches on Long island. The puckering of the seersucker is more subtle than the typical cotton variety, but it looks great and feels even better.

August 2016  ·  William in Albuquerque, NM

  • Very rich color, beautiful summer shirt. Wear it untucked!

July 2016  ·  Scott in New York, NY

  • Seems a little fragile. I hope it doesn't tear.

July 2016  ·  Ben in New York, NY

  • Needs to soften a bit

July 2016  ·  Carter in New York, NY

  • Fantastic fabric. You don't really get a feel for the texture until after the first wash when things pucker up and make it more interesting. Width of stripes not overly wide but a bit wider than your typical thin seersucker stripe.

  • A bit different. Recommended!
