We’ve always loved the incredible fisherman sweaters that come from Ireland’s Aran Islands, and this is our modern take on the turtleneck version. The Aran cable knit pattern is distinct yet easy to wear, and the yarns themselves are beautifully varied and flecked with multiple red tones for a subtle Donegal effect.
Made entirely in Italy, this sweater is expertly crafted at a 60-year-old factory in Tuscany from incredibly soft wool and cashmere blend yarn from Biagioli Modesto. The 70% lambswool and 30% cashmere blend is sturdy yet impressively soft, and the speckled Donegal yarn features a beautiful heathered effect. The result is a comfortable and warm sweater that will only improve over time.
Wear with jeans and hiking boots for a rugged look, or pair with tailored dress pants for something more sophisticated.
