This substantial 30s single-ply twill is woven in Portugal and makes a great casual fabric for chilly days. The Portuguese mill Somelos is famous for creating beautiful fabrics like this one—wonderfully soft, smooth, and sturdy, with modern vintage appeal that fits effortlessly into the wardrobes of today. Beige, cream, blue, yellow, and black layer across a warm, terra cotta red, creating a high-contrast pattern that evokes a combination of old-school British and American outdoorsman style. It’s a medium-weight fabric you’ll reach for from fall through spring, and with its minimal texture it’s surprisingly easy to dress up or down.
