Portuguese Light Blue Cotton Linen Herringbone Fabric

$125 $100

Description

Fabric Description

We took our popular cotton and linen blend oxford and reinterpreted it into this beautiful new herringbone weave. It's an incredible casual shirt that works from the start of spring through mid-fall, and is woven in Portugal exclusively for Proper Cloth. This is a classic light blue color way that's incredibly versatile. With a 55% Cotton / 45% Linen blend, this breathes incredibly well and retains a very soft feel that gets better the more it's laundered. The texture has a bit of the slubbiness of linen, which we love, without being quite as full-on casual as a 100% linen shirt. It's also woven with a 50's 2-ply construction for better durability and opacity than you'll get from the vast majority of cotton/linen blends. We like the way this looks with a Soft Ivy BD collar, soft placket, and soft cuff.

  • Very nice powder-like blue. Great summer shirt. Wrinkles more easily due to linen but looks great as a casual daytime shirt in the summer.

  • The fabric is a bit lighter and more muted than the photograph conveys. But it is still a wonderful linen blend and very unique.

  • I LOVE this fabric. It's substantial but the linen also breaths. Makes for a nice dressy look that doesn't take itself too seriously. I wear open collar with jeans and a blue blazer. Love it

November 2016  ·  Edmundo in London, England

  • Wrinkles easily, but that is the nature of linen...

October 2016  ·  Nimay in New York, NY

  • This is a linen blend so a little ironing is needed to get it back to that flawless crisp look or you can skip the ironing and just hang dry for a more natural lived in casual look. The color is like a powder blue and is just perfect for summer, very chic.

September 2016  ·  Andrew in New York, NY

  • Love this shirt. Perfect classic blue shirt.

September 2016  ·  Eddie in West Bloomfield, MI

  • While a sample of the fabric gives some indication of the pattern inherent in the fabric, the finished product is where the linen / cotton blend really shines. This is a great business casual fabric, but certainly works with a suit and tie just as well.

September 2016  ·  John in Brooklyn, NY

  • Great texture. Fabric is a bit more sheer than I expected, though the herringbone pattern does aid with its opacity. Drapes well.

September 2016  ·  Rohan in Portland, OR

  • I found this fabric ran larger overall with less shrinkage than other dress-shirt fabrics I had ordered in the past.
