Japanese Washed Rust and Navy Low Twist Plaid Fabric

A unique heavy plaid fabric with rustic texture and softness.

We worked with a small Japanese mill that specializes in casual fabrics to create this low twist twill and its beautifully varied coloring. In general, the number of twists per inch of a yarn determines how fine the fabric is—the higher the number of twists, the finer the fabric. Low twist fabrics are woven with yarns that have fewer twists per inch and are therefore looser and less refined in structure. This fabric has a 20s 3-ply construction that helps to tighten the weave and adds weight for warmth and durability. This large plaid features navy, rust, gold, mocha brown, and an irregular tweed-looking effect. The twill structure adds even more texture and variation to the pattern. It makes for a unique yet wearable shirt that will add thoughtful interest to your cold-weather looks.
