A hardy plaid fabric inspired by the rugged work shirts of the past.

We worked with a small Japanese mill that specializes in these types of fabrics to create this heavyweight twill and its timeless patterning. It’s woven with a special 10s single-ply construction and thick, textured yarns to give it the perfect hard-wearing, casual feel. The pronounced twill weave gives the fabric a particularly rustic vibe. This red, navy blue, and gold plaid pops on a creamy antique white ground for a bold yet wearable colorway that’s sure to be a staple of your weekend wardrobe for years to come.

“I'm using this as a heavy flannel shirt for winter, and it fits the bill perfectly. That said, it was heavier even than I expected, and considerably rougher than the fabric I ordered a previous flannel shirt with (Canclini Extra Large Plaid Beacon Flannel PCF2917). I like it, but take note that this could nearly function as a blanket.”

“I've ordered like five of these thick Japanese country plaid shirts now. I order them a bit larger than my typical shirts and now live in them. They're some of the most comfortable (especially after a few washes) and useful articles of clothing I own. You can't dress them up at all, FYI. But you can wear it over another collared shirt, etc. Almost like a jacket. Or you can fall asleep in it.”
