A beefy, velvety soft, and warm fabric for fall and winter.

This fantastic Italian chamois from Progetto Uno tops out on the heavyweight fabric spectrum. It's a dense quality similar to flannel in that its exterior is brushed for softness, but while cotton flannel is made to mimic wool, cotton chamois mimics the characteristics and hand of chamois leather. This blend incorporates lyocell, a wood pulp fiber known for its amazing smoothness, wrinkle resistance, and moisture absorption, as well as elastane for extra give. The result is a fabric that’s beefy, velvety soft, warm, and super comfortable. This steel grey is right at home with the colors and textures of fall and winter. Wear it right against the skin or layer it over a t-shirt, thermal, or sweater.

Recommended Styling: Try it with our Soft President Spread or Soft Point collar and Rounded Flap pockets for a rugged, functional shirt style that can be worn on its own or as an overshirt. A Straight hem and Black Snap buttons are nice casual touches.

“The material feels like felt- soft but could be softer and maybe it will get that way with a few more washes. Would be nice if there were an even heavier weight version, but this is still pretty good for winter wear. It looks great buttoned but even better unbuttoned over something like a thermal henley. Seems very good as far as wrinkle resistance too. Overall I'm quite pleased.”

“Of the 12 Proper Cloth fabrics I've ordered over the years, this is by far the softest and most comfortable shirt. That's why it's such a shame that the chamois fabric/dye began to wear at the elbows (from sitting in a desk chair) after only two months. The dye began to fade to a very light gray, and the fabric became slightly leathery. This seems to be a problem with all the stretch chamois shirts (the same thing happened with the navy chamois). I ended up replacing the shirt because I can no longer wear them to work.”
