Duca Visconti Black Stretch Corduroy Fabric

Description

Fabric Description

One of the softest and most comfortable corduroys we’ve ever come across.

This black 9-wale corduroy comes to us from the renowned mill Duca Visconti, located just outside of Milan, Italy. Duca Visconti has specialized in velvets, moleskins, and corduroys for almost 200 years, and this beautiful 40s single-ply stretch cotton cord is a perfect example of their dedication to weaving the finest fabrics for the most discerning tastes. This fabric goes through a special enzyme wash that gives it its unbelievably soft hand, and thanks to a hint of premium elastane it’s surprisingly stretchy as well. We love this deep, saturated black for warm fall and winter overshirts, and it’s great for a sleek, minimal look on its own, too.

Recommended Styling: Try it with our Soft English Spread collar, no placket, and Soft Long One Button cuffs for a sophisticated casual style.

  • Made this up as a casual workshirt with double flap pockets and on a whim tried a camp collar. Absolutely love it as a casual weekend winter shirt and has quickly become one of my favorites. Gets a few compliments as well.

  • First off. This is not your typical stiff cord material. It's very soft, and smooth to the touch. "Luxuriously", so. With the accent fabric I chose for the collar and cuff. I realize that the brown snap fasteners would have worked better than black buttons. Yes very well with this fabric.

  • Have the camel version of this shirt and decided to get the black one as well because I've had so many compliments on it. The fabric has a nice sheen to it, so it comes off more dressy than casual.

  • Truly a beautiful fabric that pops and has character, if that is what your are looking for. I had it cut in a regular dress shirt format.

November 2020  ·  Kweku in YONKERS, NY

  • Rugged, beautiful and sharp. Great with grey flannel trousers, chinos or jeans. Love the heft and coziness of the shirt.
