A buttery soft Italian corduroy in a rich scarlet color.

Woven in Lake Como by the masters at Canclini, this refined 15-wale cord has beautiful texture and a remarkably soft hand thanks to the 120s two-ply thread count. We love corduroy shirts as an alternative to your favorite flannel and find that texture and depth of color give these casual shirts a more sophisticated feel. This fabric is a versatile weight that can function well as a base layer or as an overshirt. This dark, rich red makes a bold statement that plays well with neutrals and blues.

“Pro: Love the color. It's exactly like the one depicted on the website--a deep, purplish burgundy. Con: You have to lint roll, in one direction, on a flat and dry surface, for 5 minutes, every time you wash it. The fabric picks up every little lint in the washer, and you have to use a lint roll to remove it. Additionally, the almost-velvet texture of fine corduroy forces you to brush/roll it in one direction, otherwise your shirt becomes an electrified sheep. Finally, if you uses a cheap plastic hanger with notches, or if you steamed/rolled it on surfaces that are not completely flat, there will be a mark on the fabric.”

“I was excited for this shirt - but it is a total miss. It shrank to the point that it doesn't fit me. I packed it to wear at a work holiday event and was really disappointed not to be able to wear it. The color and concept of this fabric are great, but Proper Cloth needs to account for how much it shrinks.”
