Canclini Navy Check Seersucker Fabric

Description

Fabric Description

A unique seersucker fabric from Italy’s Canclini.

Widely worn in the hot, muggy South, seersucker’s special uneven puckering gives it less surface area contact with the skin, increasing airflow under the shirt and allowing heat to dissipate more quickly. This silky 80s single-ply version from Canclini has double the visual texture, with the small check pattern laid over the puckered stripe of the weave itself. A navy and white check like this one makes a versatile casual shirt that is easily dressed up—wear it untucked with chinos and white sneakers, or tuck it into linen trousers for a smarter look.

Recommended Styling: A Soft President Spread 3 or Colorado Button Down collar make classic styles that never fail. We like to design our seersuckers with no placket to give the texture center stage. Note that due to the special nature of seersucker fabrics, they can only be made using soft, unfused collars, cuffs, and fronts/plackets.

  • A very interesting pattern for seersucker.

  • Nice unique pattern for seersucker. Nice cool shirt as a less wrinkle prone alternative to linen.

  • This is one of my favorite PC fabrics ever. Extremely comfortable and versatile. Very light but the seersucker keeps it organized and the pattern works in all kinds of settings.

  • Great seersucker fabric!

July 2022  ·  David in Big Sky, MT

  • Nice casual fabric for warmer weather and now that I live in a hotter climate area, I find myself considering seersucker more often. The darker color of this fabric partially masks the "bumpiness" of seersucker so it looks less casual and I would not object to wearing this to the office on very hot days. Wish there were other color options for this one...

  • This is much lighter than my “regular” seersucker shirts. About 80 percent of the weight of a comparably sized seersucker shirt from an ordinary shirt maker. Very comfortable and cool to wear. I couldn’t be happier.

  • bigger button hole for top shirt button

  • I didn't love this fabric. If you are looking for traditional cotton seersucker this isn't it – doesn't have the puckering you'd expect and with the dark navy and checks vs stripes, it really doesn't look like a seersucker shirt. It felt a bit silky/stretchy--like there is too much elastane in it or something. It feels more like a performance-wear type of shirt so if you like that feel and just like the pattern itself you will like it.

  • Perfect for warm weather

April 2022  ·  Jerry in Daniel Island, SC

  • Love the micro pattern and it is a very comfortable material. There also does appear to be a very slight 1inch horizontal awning stripe pattern in the shirt. It is hardly noticeable and difference is between midnight navy and black. I am a fan of it, but I couldn't tell from any of the online photos that it was there.

  • The fabric’s texture holds up with washing in a washing machine and ironing.

March 2022  ·  David in Severance, CO

  • I like it. It's light but still easy to iron, and the pattern is interesting and a bit unusual for seersucker, which I like.
