A soft, warm flannel in a classic pattern.

This flannel is super soft, and with its dense 30s two-ply construction it’ll keep you nice and warm on cold winter days. The Black Watch tartan pattern originated with Scottish Highlands regiments of the British military around 1725 and has since permeated the menswear industry as a classic and versatile motif. Its dark combination of green and navy can look almost black (hence the name), making it an interesting yet understated pattern that’s easily dressed up or down. Wear it with hefty tailored trousers, or throw it over a t-shirt and jeans.

Recommended Styling: Go with our Soft President Spread collar, Soft Front placket, Rounded Flap pockets, Soft Long One Button cuff, and Slate Horn buttons for a workwear-inspired look. For something a bit sleeker, go with no placket and no pockets.

“This is a nice fabric with a gorgeous color! The fabric is stiffer than expected, but I think it will soften nicely after a few washes. If it fits your budget, I would recommend looking at one of the Canclini flannel materials. They are more expensive, but much softer.”

“Soft, but not anything beyond what you would expect from an ordinary flannel. It has a feel similar to an oxford button-down, which I think is good. The shirt does well as an untucked casual piece, but I think it has enough structure to it that you could dress it up far more easily than your typical flannel.”
