Our President Collar Series is a group of collars that feature versatile shapes and universally flattering proportions. We designed these collars to be both modern and timeless, with premium construction techniques and materials that will last as long as your shirts do (a very long time). They’ve been part of our core shirt design offering since Proper Cloth was founded.
As of August 4th, 2021, we updated all six collars in the President Series with some improvements that make them even better:

- We re-engineered the shapes of the collars while maintaining the original dimensions;
- Sourced new interlinings for the fused collars to provide a crisper look that still allows flexible roll (President Spread, President Semi Spread, President Cutaway, and President Button Down);
- Reinforced the collar edges and points for better resilience and hold;
- Adjusted the band shape for smoother lines where the collar band meets the shirt.
The overall benefits of these updates?

- Reduced possibility of front placket bump;
- Better positioning around the neck;
- Improved longevity and style.

Some of the key updates made to the President Collar Series.
The following lays out the updates that were made to each individual collar in the President Series, as well as the aspects of each design that remain consistent with the previous iteration.
President Spread

- Shape: New straighter collar band with updated leaf contour (to align with the new band shape)
- Specs: Same as previous version: 3 1/8″ collar points, 5 1/2″ spread, 1 1/4″ front collar band height, 1 1/2″ rear collar band height, 1/4″ tie space
- Interlining: New interlining gives support that is slightly crisper than previous version, yet is still flexible to allow roll
- Construction: New construction strengthens collar edges and points and improves collar roll
- Appropriate For: Business, Formal, Business Casual
Soft President Spread
