Semi Spread Collar (above left) vs Point Collar (above right)
These are both traditional dress shirt options, with the biggest difference being the difference in collar spread. The Semi Spread Collar has points that finish 4″ apart from each other, whereas the Point Collar has its collar points finishing 3″ apart. These two collars have the same collar band height, same collar point length, and are both made using a stiff, fused interlining.
We tend to push most guys that are choosing between these two collars to go for the Semi Spread. We find its a more versatile collar that looks better with more tie widths. If you’re a tried-and-true point collar wearer, then stick to your guns.
