Raising Your Arms Causes the Shirt to Rise too Much

Red Hook

Allow enough room in your fit for you to sit down and stand up without your shirt becoming untucked

Problem description

You like to move around but you feel trapped – raising your arms over your head causes the shirt to move up considerably.  This causes it to come untucked too frequently, making you feel as though you are in a straight-jacket, or just mildly annoys you.

Solution

If you have selected the [Very] Tailored Shoulder/Armpit fit, then you’ll want to switch that back to Full Shoulder/Armpit Fit.  If you already have selected the Full Shoulder/Armpit fit, then there is no easy fix other than to make the shirt’s chest width and sleeve width larger. You may also want to consider adding 1″ to your shirt back length so it doesn’t become untucked as easily.
