Washing your shirt according to the suggested care instructions will help ensure that the shirt lasts a long time and will look its best.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/propercloth.com\/reference\/proper-cloth-shirt-care-instructions\/\">Custom Shirt care instructions by material type<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-casual-pants-wash-cold-air-dry\">Casual Pants &#8211; Wash Cold, Air Dry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Proper Cloth\u2019s casual pants are garment washed&nbsp;during production for&nbsp;a softer and more relaxed feel and&nbsp;to minimize&nbsp;potential shrinkage over time.&nbsp;As with&nbsp;denim,&nbsp;we&nbsp;recommend&nbsp;washing them&nbsp;every&nbsp;few wears\u2014not quite as often as&nbsp;you wash your&nbsp;shirts.&nbsp;Launder&nbsp;them at home with cold water and like&nbsp;colors on your washing machine\u2019s delicate or hand-wash setting, and then hang&nbsp;them to dry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/propercloth.com\/reference\/how-to-wash-and-care-for-casual-pants\/\">Casual Pant care instructions<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tailored-clothing-dry-clean-sparingly\">Tailored Clothing &#8211; Dry Clean Sparingly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dry cleaning is the recommended&nbsp;cleaning&nbsp;method for tailored clothing (jackets, dress trousers, suits, and tuxedos), though it should be done as infrequently as possible\u2014after several wears or once per season, not after each wear. Garments&nbsp;cleaned&nbsp;less frequently will last longer than garments&nbsp;cleaned&nbsp;more frequently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/propercloth.com\/reference\/how-to-clean-care-for-tailored-clothing\/\">Tailored Clothing care instructions<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sweaters-amp-knitwear-hand-wash-or-dry-clean\">Sweaters &amp; Knitwear &#8211; Hand Wash or Dry Clean<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Proper Cloth offers sweaters in a variety of styles and materials. For almost all materials and blends a careful hand wash in cold water is best. After washing, lay the sweater down on a dry towel on a flat, waterproof surface. You may need to reshape the sweater a bit. Don&#8217;t stretch it beyond its original size to avoid damage. Once the sweater is shaped to its original size, leave it to air dry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Specific care instructions should also be included on the tag sewn inside your Proper Cloth sweater. For cashmere and cashmere blend knits, dry cleaning is another option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-essentials-machine-wash-tumble-dry-low\">Essentials &#8211; Machine Wash, Tumble Dry Low<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Proper Cloth Essentials, including socks, underwear, and t-shirts are machine washable. Washing similar colors in cold water is recommended to prevent fading or transfer or dye between garments. Tumble dry on a low heat setting or air dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Specific care instructions will also be included on the tag sewn inside your Proper Cloth essential or in the original packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-outerwear-dry-clean-sparingly\">Outerwear &#8211; Dry Clean Sparingly <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to Tailored Clothing, all outerwear items should be dry cleaned only.
