The pleats are open when the garment measurements are taken, but they are closed when the trousers are cut and sewn, so we must account for this change in your size. You\u2019ll need to create a special size in order to order pleated pants, and it only takes a minute to do\u2014follow the instructions below.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>How to Create a Pleated Pant Size from an Existing No-Pleat Size<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into your Proper Cloth Account and go to your <a href=\"https:\/\/propercloth.com\/sizes\/pants\/\">Saved Pants Sizes<\/a>. Choose the existing No Pleat pant size you&#8217;d like to start with as a base for your pleated pant size.<\/li>\n<li>Make the appropriate adjustment (increase) to the Hip Width (see recommendations below) based on the product type.\n<ul>\n<li>Tailored Dress Pants\n<ul>\n<li>+0.8&#8243; Hip Width for Single Pleat<\/li>\n<li>+1.3&#8243; Hip Width for Double Pleat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Casual Pants\/Chinos\n<ul>\n<li>+0.4&#8243; Hip Width for Single Pleat<\/li>\n<li>+0.8&#8243; Hip Width for Double Pleat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>After making the recommended adjustments, check the Size Compatibility on the right side of the window.<\/li>\n<li>Click the black SAVE CHANGES\/SAVE AS button and give the size a name to save it as a new trouser size.
