Benefits of Knit Dress Shirts<\/h2>\n

Knit shirts offer the perfect balance <\/span>of<\/span> comfort and style. Knit Shirt Design and Styling<\/h2>\n

Knit shirts are primarily worn in business casual settings, though they can be styled differently to be worn <\/span>on a variety of occasions<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A popover<\/a> knit shirt is a more<\/span> sartorial take on the polo shirt. <\/span>It\u2019s s<\/span>imilar to <\/span>the <\/span>polo<\/span>,<\/span> but <\/span>with a <\/span>longer <\/span>soft front placket and three buttons below the collar<\/span>, creating a larger opening in the front of the shirt that allows you to<\/span> \u201cpop<\/span> it over\u201d your head<\/span>. You can pair your popover with shorts or chinos for a casual look.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Knit Dress Shirt<\/h1>\n

Though not appropriate for formal interviews and serious business settings, k<\/span>nit shirts <\/span>make a <\/span>great <\/span>relaxed business look when styled with dressier <\/span>tailored clothing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We suggest <\/span>designing<\/span> your knit dress shirt with<\/span> no placket<\/span> (a<\/span> French<\/span> front<\/span>)<\/span> or <\/span>a S<\/span>oft <\/span>F<\/span>ront placket. <\/span>As with<\/span> the polo and popover styles, we recommend p<\/span>air<\/span>ing your knit dress shirt <\/span>with medium to larger size<\/span>d<\/span> collars <\/span>when wearing a jacket. Although this is a more dressed-up take on the knit shirt, we still do not recommend wearing a tie with it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Things to Avoid<\/h1>\n

Knit shirts are a great tool for having fun with your style, h<\/span>owever there are a couple<\/span> of<\/span> things to avoid. If you\u2019re looking for a tuxedo shirt, we suggest sticking to a more formal fabric, such as a twill, broadcloth<\/span>,<\/span> or royal oxford, as knit shirts <\/span>don\u2019t have the appropriate structure for formalwear<\/span>. <\/span>Reserve F<\/span>rench cuffs<\/span> for those more formal fabrics as well\u2014<\/span>the softer material <\/span>of knits <\/span>performs better with button<\/span> cuffs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caring for Your Knit Shirts<\/h1>\n

We recommend<\/span> following the care instructions on the tag sewn inside your <\/span>knit<\/span> shirt<\/span>s.\u00a0<\/span>Cold water and hanging t<\/span>hem<\/span> to dry is always safe, but certain knits may be better served by going in the dryer.
