How it Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Front Length<\/strong> adjustment lets you change the front length of a jacket independently from the back length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jacket front length is measured from the high point of the shoulder<\/strong> (where the shoulder meets the lapel) down to the lowest part of the front quarter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With our Standard<\/strong> setting, the jacket\u2019s front length will be 1.5″ longer<\/strong> than the back length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selecting Shorten 1.5″<\/strong>, Shorten 1″<\/strong>, or Shorten 0.5″<\/strong> will reduce the front length by the specified amount relative to Standard<\/strong>. Selecting Lengthen 0.5″<\/strong> increases the front length 0.5″ relative to Standard so that it becomes 2″ longer<\/strong> than the back length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Recommendation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For a nice fitting jacket, our goal is typically for the front and back of the jacket to appear evenly aligned with the floor<\/strong> when worn. Achieving this typically requires the front to be slightly longer than the back due to the natural shape of the human body\u2014hence the 1.5″ longer standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
