A lightweight, three-season flannel made exclusively for us in Japan.

We designed our Satoyama flannels with a distinct heathered color palette and a lighter weight to carry you all the way through fall, winter, and spring. They’re woven exclusively for us in Japan on a vintage Rapier loom from certified organic cotton in a 40/1 x 40/1 twill construction. The particularly slow weaving action of the loom keeps the yarns loose, and, with a light brushing, the result is a super comfortable fabric you can wear in a host of different situations. A process called “top dyeing” creates the unique irregularity of the mélange yarns and the beautiful tonal variations in these flannels.
