Description

Fabric Description

In our minds, there's no situation in which you can't wear an oxford cloth button down (OCBD). There are times, however, when a pure cotton oxford wears a bit too warm. Our solution: the cotton and linen oxford.

This 55% cotton/45% linen blend we developed with our favorite Portuguese mill breathes incredibly well while retaining the substantial feel of a classic oxford weave. The fabric has a bit of slub from the linen which gives it beautiful texture and character, and it’s more durable and opaque than most cotton/linen blends, too. Expect it to age phenomenally and become your go-to warm weather shirt. This crisp white pairs well with jeans or chinos, and is equally at home under an unlined sport coat.

Recommended Styling: Go with a Soft Ivy Button Down collar for a classic oxford look or a Soft President Spread collar for an easygoing casual look. Forego the placket for a sleeker design.

  • This particular shirt was not as pretty as I would like. I found it less forgiving than the blue for some reason. I may return this one.

  • Just a very nice white fabric. Feels very sturdy thanks to the cotten blend im guessing. The cotton does wonders prohibiting the shirt from wrinkling terribly.

  • This has been great for the hot summer days. Love the fabric, I have four of these linen blend shirts and love them! Linen and cotton blend is the way to go.

  • What a fantastic fabric. I love linen for many reasons, so a linen-cotton mix allows me to wear linen earlier and later than just summer. A perfect mix of business and casual.

3 weeks ago  ·  Cooper in Roseland, NJ

  • Crisp, yet with some of the character of linen

3 weeks ago  ·  Gunnar in Stockholm, Stockholm

  • This shirt is more casual than business. I would not wear it in a formal business environment. It is a great casual shirt.

  • Perfect for summer. I am not a big fan of linen...like the look...hate the wrinkles. Yeah, yeah, I know, I know : the wrinkles of linen is part of it's charm.

  • beautiful fabric, the cotton makes the linen stand out so beatifully.

  • This was a surprise to me in terms of the quality compared to Thomas Mason. Bought this and a TM cotton/linen at the same time and the difference between this comes down to the texture of oxford vs twill weave. Wrinkles noticeably, but that's to be expected. Makes for a nice OCBD without the usual weight. Would order again.

  • Great texture and hand feel. Very soft, even after line dry.

  • This fabric is great for hot weather. The cotton gives it a bit of structure and heft, while the linen keeps it lightweight and breathable. Though it's not 100% linen, it definitely wrinkles more than an all-cotton garment. Be advised that it is semi-transparent, so you may wish to wear an undershirt underneath.

  • Beautiful cotton linen that dresses up or down, crisp white, slightly transparent but totally fine to wear on its own

  • The quality was good; hand feel was good—a good weight and versatile.

  • This is a comfortable blend for its softness and breathability, but stays sharp through the day.

last month  ·  John in San Diego, CA

  • Very soft, breathes well. Is quite wrinkled when it comes out of the laundry but I think the wrinkles don't necessarily look that bad on this fabric.

  • Great linen fabric

  • Still a bit wrinkled but a nice blend and hand feel.

  • Nice crisp linen, not too light or flimsy, and of course it's linen so it wrinkles but not horribly.

  • Okay

  • The subtle linen appearance of this fabric exceeded expectations as a joy to wear. I would opt for a lower profile collar than the President semi-spread. The slight shear of the fabric allows for an Oxford-like placket while opting for the French front.

  • Recommended for anywhere 60-90F. The fabric is a tight weave but if you feel too hot on a regular Oxford and want to expand the wear to more seasons this is the best Oxford fabric out there. Not for very hot humid weather.

  • Has a quality slub, cotton helps keep linen from wrinkling as much. Wonderful bright white. I can see why this fabric is now out of stock.
