A ridiculously soft flannel in a vintage-inspired plaid.

This is exactly the kind of richly textured, thick flannel you’ll want to reach for as the days get shorter and colder. A hefty 12s single-ply cotton, it has a super soft brushed finish that makes it extra warm and cozy. The wonderful Portuguese mill Somelos is famous for creating beautiful fabrics like this one—from the deliciously rustic quality to the unique pattern. We love working with them to design plaids that recall iconic vintage styles, bringing the past to the present with a fresh, modern update. The twill weave is distinctly visible throughout this faded beige, cream, and taupe plaid which adds to its dimension. It’s a sophisticated neutral color combination. Great for a statement overshirt or for adding a bold pattern to a tonal look.

“The fabric feels great for its price. However, after a few washes, there's some noticeable pilling, though it's manageable. I take care to hang dry the shirt, washing it inside out in a garment bag without fabric softener. The color did darken a bit after the initial wash, but personally, I find it looks even better than it did initially, although it was a tad brighter than the photo when I first got it. It was a good value for the sale price.”
