It’s Cinco de Mayo this weekend and day-drinking on the roof is in order. In honor of Mexican tradition, we’ll be drinking Margarita’s. One should never argue with tradition.
Making a proper Margarita is straightforward. The key is the ingredients. Patron Silver, Cointreau Triple Sec, fresh limes (be sure to buy a lot of limes) and ice. That’s it. Technically speaking, you want a 7:4:3 ratio (50% tequila, 27% triple sec and 21% lime juice), but you can mix it to taste. Add sufficient ice or a splash of water if you find it too strong. If you’re blending it for the ladies add a bit of sugar, but we suggest giving it a try on the rocks without. Salt the glass for dramatic effect.
