Fabric Description

A classic shirting pattern, elevated. Thomas Mason’s Goldline is the premier Italian fabric mill’s top shelf offering. All Goldline fabrics are woven with Giza 45 Egyptian cotton which—due to its extra-long staple and ultra fineness—produces fabrics that combine exceptional softness and smooth handfeel with unparalleled durability. (As a result Giza 45 is among the most coveted fibers in the world, and it’s highly rare, to boot.) With its super fine weight, silky finish, and fantastic hand, the 140s x 140s 2-ply Goldline broadcloth is one of our favorite dress shirting fabrics. In beautiful shades of blue, this Prince of Wales check makes up into the ideal refined business shirt. Choose a President Spread or the Roma Cutaway (for the slightly bolder), and definitely upgrade to tall or Australian mother-of-pearl buttons to complement the fabric’s luxuriousness. • Sharp shirt, and remains one of my favorites both in and out of the office. That said, its definitely on the pricey side and I have had issues with loose/stray threading.

  • It's a thomas mason goldline, what else can I say. Goldline along with DJIA are simply amazing. Luxurious, comfortable....you can tell right away the difference.

March 2016  ·  Jonathan in Mission Hills, KS

March 2016  ·  Jason in Brooklyn, NY

  • Big fan of this blue check. Very versatile and good quality.

March 2016  ·  Phillip in San Francisco, CA

  • This is a very good, light fabric. It is slightly transparent and fairly soft. I wish it were slightly thicker and not quite as prone to wrinkling. For ~$235 (with MOP buttons) I think there are better ways to spend your money, but it is a great shirt overall.

February 2016  ·  Brad in Waukesha, WI

  • The dark blue lines are actually very sharp and up close, really stand out.

February 2016  ·  Jeffrey in ALHAMBRA, CA

  • Slight twist on light blue work shirt

February 2016  ·  Daron in New York, NY

  • Almost see through. Didn\'t realize it would be that light.

January 2016  ·  Robert in Villa Hills, KY

  • I want to like this fabric more than I do. As a concept, it\'s right on. It\'s blue, a grid -- everything I usually like. But this shirt, for the money, wrinkles more than it should. It is very prone to looking messy even after half a day of desk work; heaven forbid travel. Solely because of its inability to stay pressed, I can not recommend this fabric.

January 2016  ·  Randall in Grosse Pointe, MI

  • Beautiful fabric.

January 2016  ·  John in Island Heights, NJ

  • The Prince of Wales check pattern is subtler than expected, which turned out to be a positive quality as it looks very elegant.

October 2015  ·  Jason in New York, NY

  • As thin as I wanted, but not as soft as I wanted.

September 2015  ·  zac in Moonee Ponds, VIC

  • Very obvious quality. But easy to see through if no t\'shirt.

September 2015  ·  Stephen in OCALA, FL

  • Great fabric, well made and feels great. Looks sharp and doesn\'t wrinkle as much as some of the other fabrics.

July 2015  ·  pete in ATLANTA, GA

  • Nice pattern - a bit of texture, but by no means overbearing.

July 2015  ·  Kim in New York, NY

  • I was surprised how transparent this shirt was. Not as crazy see-through as the white shirt from these guys, but I thought the color and pattern would make more of a difference than they did.

  • Incredibly smooth.

April 2015  ·  Seph in New York, NY

  • lightweight, fine quality as you would expect

March 2015  ·  Paul in Cary, NC

  • This fabric takes it up to a whole new level. Super soft and smooth. Beautiful, subtle pattern. I was hesitant/nervous to spend this much $ on a single shirt, but wow is it nice!

March 2015  ·  Patrick in APO, AE

  • This Prince of Whales check is done well without multiple colors. As such, the shirt takes on different looks from different angles and distances. It really looks great up close and is very easy to wear wih most ties.

February 2015  ·  Douglas in Citrus Heights, CA

  • A fine shirt for the gentleman

February 2015  ·  Edward in Wethersfield, CT

  • I own 3 PC Thomas Mason Goldline shirts and love all of them. This subtle PoW check pattern is a perfect compliment to the soft feel and fit of the Goldline.

February 2015  ·  Paul in New York, NY

  • Incredibly ridiculously smooth. Irons up to be super crisp and the pattern is perfect way to make a solid suit more interesting.

January 2015  ·  Chris in Prince, NY

  • Incredibly luxurious. The fabric just feels so smooth to the touch. Love the tonal colors on this one.
